Sneak Peek: Build a Birthday!

1 crafts 2015-05-14 002

Today I am sharing a project that I created with a NEW stamp set that you will find in the 2015-2016 called: Build a Birthday. This set is photopolymer and has 8 stamps. Great set!

Can you spot a few new colors?? Yep, I used 3 of the 5 new In-Colors for 2015. The green is called Cucumber Crush, the pink is Watermelon Wonder, and the yellow is Delightful Dijon. You are going to *love* these. 🙂  If you signed up to be a demonstrator you could get all of these products in your Starter Kit!!  Contact me with any questions!

The only other color that I used was Basic Gray and Pool Party inks. The card stock is Whisper White and Watermelon Wonder.

Have a great day!!

Celebrate Today, Important Dates + Design Inside of Cards

Welcome to Wednesday! I hope that your day is going well so far. 🙂

I have a card to share today that is a CASE (copy and share everything) from Pinterest. You can see Teneale’s card HERE. I changed up a few things because I didn’t have all of the same supplies as her original.

I had a sweet comment from a girl named April (Hi-April! 🙂 ). She asked for some direction on how to keep the design flowing into the center of the card. I didn’t have too many resources for her to check out. As I was editing this card I realized that I had a little something to share with April (and the rest of you!). Here is the inside of this card:

One way to coordinate the inside of the card to the front is to stamp an image from the same set on the inside. If I am using a dark colored card stock for my card base I always add a light colored layer, usually Whisper White, like I did here. I stamped the solid balloon image and a few extras like the ribbon and balloon string. Of course, I added a sweet sentiment to the inside too. Petite Pairs is a great set for sentiments!

Another way to coordinate the inside to the outside is to use a strip of Designer Series Paper. If you used it on the outside then it’s a given to match on the inside! I hope this helps you see some new possibilities.

I also received a question from Lauren! She has some questions about retiring lists and the NEW Catalog dates. I actually just marked my calendar yesterday with all of these important dates!

Same Layout Different Card! Happy Birthday!

1 crafts 2015-04-06 017

How about a bright birthday card for you today?! Welcome Spring showers and gray skies (with the occasional sunshine)! Here in St. Louis, Missouri we have had a few days of nasty weather with another night of threats expected this evening. I hope that your city has blue skies and singing birdies. 🙂

Remember this sweet baby card from earlier this week? Do you recognize the layout? Yes, it’s the same! Isn’t it crazy how different these are? My favorite of the two…I am not telling. 🙂 You tell me what you think! Leave me a quick comment and I will let you know on my next post. 🙂

Are you still getting over the fact that the Blendabilities are not available right now? I still want to reach for mine but, some have already gone dry since being discontinued. I finally got out my blender pen and that is how I colored the cake image. To do that you just squeeze your ink pad, while closed, that will put ink on the inside of the lid. Now use that blender pen to pick up the ink and get to coloring. Clean your blender pen by making a few marks on a scrap paper then move on to your next color. Have fun!

I will say that I really do like how bright and fun this card is. It will be perfect for my niece that just turned 4! We are going skating this weekend to celebrate. Oh boy, actually we are celebrating my nephew’s 8th birthday too. I guess I better get to creating another card. 😉

There is still time to get FREE SHIPPING on ANY size order! If you are placing an order under $150 please use the current Hostess Code (located in the right column of my site).

Have a great day! And, if you are experiencing this Springtime storm season-please stay safe tonight! ~Angie

Funky Fold: Celebrate Today

1 crafts 2015-03-03 019

How about another Celebrate Today card? This was my daughter’s birthday card. Perfect for a 10 year old girl, right?! Nice and bright!

I used the masking technique with the balloons. That’s where you stamp your image that you want to see the entire image (in this case it was the blue balloon). I then stamped that balloon image on a post-it note and cut it out (make sure that you stamp near the top of the post-it that has sticky on the back). Place that post-it over your already stamped image then stamp your next image over the post-it! In my case, I stamped the pink balloon and then the orange one.

*I stamped off once before stamping my solid balloons onto my whisper white. That way when I added the detailed stamp to the balloons it would stand out.*

To get my pink balloon to “hang” off the right side I made a cut from the top and bottom of the whisper white cardstock to the balloon and trimmed the side of the balloon with scissors.

How do you like this fold? I thought that it was cute and fun! Something different from the “regular” fold. 🙂

I used a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock. I scored that at 3 1/2″ and again at 9″ on the long side. I also added some glossy patterned paper (not Stampin’ Up!) to each section of the card.

I hope that you get some stamping time in this weekend! My kiddos get out of school in just about an hour (yep, 1/2 day, YAY!, ok, not really, LOL, I have lots to do). They are on Spring Break next week! We have no big plans for the week. What do you do for Spring Break?

Have a wonderful day! 🙂

Celebrate Today Thank You Cards

1 crafts 2015-03-03 014

Do you have your kids send thank you’s after a birthday party? to their family members that give them gifts? I try to and I will admit that sometimes time just slips away and then I forget. 🙁  This time I worked ahead and actually finished Allison’s thank you’s before her parties. Now she can write a sweet note to family and friends! I always feel better when we are able to show our gratitude for their kindness.

Speaking of gratitude, I actually used this design to create my customer thank you’s! I really appreciate when you choose me as your demonstrator because I know that there are a TON of us out there! If you placed an order in February you should have received the card below. I ran out of Coastal Cabana cardstock by the time I finished Allison’s cards (she is a lover of blue-NO pink) so with a quick switch of the cardstock and ink I was good to continue. I’m loving this stamp set/bundle: Celebrate Today because it is so versatile. I will share a baby card that I created with this bundle later on!
