Gift Card Holders

The season is quickly approaching and soon you will be looking for cute gift card holders and great packaging ideas, right?!  I love to give my little gifts in totally cute packaging!  Giving a gift card as a gift may feel like your cheating but, the recipient will love that they can go get exactly what they want.
You can create cute gift card holders with the time you will save by not having to spend trying to pick out the perfect gift!

For today’s project you will have to forgive me for using products that are retired through Stampin’ Up! but, I am busy creating for an upcoming craft show so, I am using up some great papers in my collection!  The Stocking Die was offered last year through Stampin’ Up!.  You can create your own template if you do not have this die.

I used designer paper for the front, Very Vanilla cardstock for the backs (which I just used my liquid glue to attach), and a very sparkly piece of the Silver Glimmer Paper for the tops of all of the stockings.

Sponging a bit of Soft Suede ink around all of my bits and pieces really helps to make it “pop”.  I used some brown felt ribbon for my hanger.  Using a crop-a-dial I punched a hole through the ribbon and the top of the stocking and used a brad to attach to the stocking.  I also hot glued retired felt pieces over the brads for adding decoration.

I hope that you enjoyed today’s project and you are beginning to think of ways to create your own cute packages this holiday season!  Let me know if I can help you!

Halloween Treat Cover–Stampin’ Up!

Hello!  Can you believe it’s Friday already?  Whew, the time flew by this week!  🙂

I told you yesterday that I would post my project that was inspired by a great Halloween swap that I received that week at the Unite & Excite event.  Well, I am here making good on my word!

Here is what I posted yesterday:

I created a quick treat inspired from what Theresa had already done.  I do not own a few of the supplies that she used but I didn’t let that stop me!

Materials used for Theresa’s treat:  Basic Black card stock, Scalloped Tag Topper, 1 3/8″ circle punch, Motley Monsters Designer Series Paper, Fall Fest Stamp Set + Fun Fall Framelits Bundle, Bitty Banners Framelits, Teeny Tiny Wishes

For starters she used the Scallop Tag Topper Punch and I do not have that one so I substituted the Decorative Label Punch.  I slid my black card stock (which is 2″ x 8 1/2″) into the punch in order to only punch at the ends.  This just adds some cute detail but you could also just use a corner rounder for interest.

Next I used a piece of 1″ x 6″ piece of designer paper to wrap around the middle of the “pouch” after I set my candy inside (I used Kit-Kat’s for my treats).  I then punched a hole at the top and tied both sides together with a piece of the new 2-tone Tangerine & White thick bakers twine.

Finally, I stamped my images from Freaky Friends onto Whisper White card stock.  I punched it out with the
1 1/4″ circle punch.  I also punched a piece of black with the 1 3/8″ circle punch and a Tangerine Tango piece with the 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle punch.

I added those punched pieces to my designer paper strip and I was finished!

Easy peasy.  You can create a lot of these in no time!  I will be giving my treats to special friends of mine and I may even go ahead and make them for my trick-or-treater’s too.

I hope that you find some time this weekend to do something fun and crafty!  Make sure you bookmark my page and come back often!  You don’t want to miss Monday’s around here for a while as I will be posting the next Merry Monday card and video this Monday!

Have a great day!

BIG News! + Halloween Treat

Hello!  I just have to say that yesterday’s temps didn’t make it to 77 degrees.  It was such a gorgeous day (even though it rained).  I know that there are many out there that REALLY enjoy the warmer weather but, I am not one of them. 🙂  This coming weekend is looking like MY ideal temperature–HIGH of 70!!  Woo Hoo!!  Are you sad to see Summer end?  Sorry.  This girl is welcoming the cooler weather with open arms.

BIG NEWS Announcement is at the bottom of today’s post!
So in light of the cooler temperatures, I have created yet another Halloween project that is so easy to do. Have you realized that Halloween is NEXT month?  You will only need a few supplies to complete this adorable treat including the Labels Framelits.
Let’s check it out…
Cute! right?!  I love this treat tag!  It’s perfect for adding to a little something for school parties, friends, neighbors, co-workers, or even easy enough to add to treats that you hand out on Halloween night.  I do not get many kids at my door so, this treat idea is perfect!!
Like I said, you only need a few supplies and you will be creating in minutes!
  1. Run a piece of Motley Monsters designer paper through your Big Shot with the largest Label Framelits.
  2. Score 1″ from the center (on both the left and right side of the center).
  3. Fold on the score lines and place your candy inside.  I used a Reese’s Peanut Butter PUMPKIN.
  4. Wipe a small piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock with your Embossing Buddy then stamp your image from the Merry Everything using Whisper White Craft Ink.
  5. Now heat emboss with your heat tool.
  6. Punch out your tag with the Note Tag Punch.
  7. Using a small circle punch go ahead and punch a hole at the top of your tag.
  8. Thread a piece of Rich Razzleberry cotton ribbon through the holes of your designer paper. Tie into a bow.

You now have a super duper cute treat for anyone special!

Below are the items that I used to complete this project.  Click on an item(s) and you can purchase right from my Stampin’ Store.  Plus, you can purchase the stamps and the punch together at a 15% discount!!  Score!
Enter the current Hostess Code when placing your order (don’t use code if over $150) and you will be mailed a thank you from me!!  Code is at the top right of my blog!
Thank you for making it to the end of today’s post!  Here is my BIG NEWS:
I am so excited to share that I have filmed my FIRST video!  Whew.  I did it!  I finally jumped in with both feet.  I am still v-e-r-y much learning the how to’s of putting together a great video.  But hey, I gotta start some where.  You will want to check back tomorrow for my Very First Merry Monday Video!  Yep, Merry Monday is back and will now have an accompanying video!  I hope that you enjoy this feature.  I hope that you will come back tomorrow!!
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday…
