Get Well Soup and Warm Wishes

1 crafts 2015-07-14 004

Wow, it has been a crazy summer around here so far! We are already down to one month to go before the kiddos go back to school! Where does it go? The time. Where does it go? I hope that you will forgive my lack of posting the last couple of months. I have been busy trying to keep my kids busy. The most exciting thing that has happened this summer: my BF since middle school has moved back to town!! Getting our kids together has been SO MUCH FUN!

While the summer flies on by we are still going to try to squeeze in a camping trip. Yes, REAL camping with the kids this year. I am curious how the kids will do with tents and sleeping outside! My biggest foreseeable problem…a FAN. I always, always, always sleep with a fan! And, I have created a mini-me. My daughter is the exact same. Hmm. I am going to have to figure out something or we just won’t sleep for a couple of nights!

Ok, enough about me. I hope that you are having a great summer!

This past week I have gotten my creative juices flowing and I created a stack of cards! This one is ALL Stampin’ Up! but, I have to admit that I also enjoyed working on some other things that were made with other companies products. That’s alright, right?! I will share those soon–promise!

This cute “Get Well Soon” card is made with the *NEW* Get Well Soup stamp. I also used the *NEW* thick Whisper White cardstock for the base of the card. I have to say that I am in total *love* with this card stock. It’s so perfect for making cards and for use with alcohol markers! I didn’t really think that I would find a real “need” for this because I was doing just fine with regular Whisper White but, Oh No…this stuff is great!! If you have not already gotten some you *must* put that on your list!

I think that this card turned out pretty neat. If you have questions please leave a comment below!

Here is a peek at the inside:

Funky Fold: Celebrate Today

1 crafts 2015-03-03 019

How about another Celebrate Today card? This was my daughter’s birthday card. Perfect for a 10 year old girl, right?! Nice and bright!

I used the masking technique with the balloons. That’s where you stamp your image that you want to see the entire image (in this case it was the blue balloon). I then stamped that balloon image on a post-it note and cut it out (make sure that you stamp near the top of the post-it that has sticky on the back). Place that post-it over your already stamped image then stamp your next image over the post-it! In my case, I stamped the pink balloon and then the orange one.

*I stamped off once before stamping my solid balloons onto my whisper white. That way when I added the detailed stamp to the balloons it would stand out.*

To get my pink balloon to “hang” off the right side I made a cut from the top and bottom of the whisper white cardstock to the balloon and trimmed the side of the balloon with scissors.

How do you like this fold? I thought that it was cute and fun! Something different from the “regular” fold. 🙂

I used a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock. I scored that at 3 1/2″ and again at 9″ on the long side. I also added some glossy patterned paper (not Stampin’ Up!) to each section of the card.

I hope that you get some stamping time in this weekend! My kiddos get out of school in just about an hour (yep, 1/2 day, YAY!, ok, not really, LOL, I have lots to do). They are on Spring Break next week! We have no big plans for the week. What do you do for Spring Break?

Have a wonderful day! 🙂

Happy Birthday! Big Day!

1 crafts 2015-02-23 019

Today’s card is my favorite of the cards that a few gals created this past weekend at my Birthday Bash Stamp Camp. Adding a bit of glitz and glam are what take this card up a few notches however, the overall design is super simple! I may have edited this photo a bit too much because the full card below is definitely more true to the real card. I’m sorry! I used the Coastal Cabana DSP from the 2013-2015 In-Color Paper Stack.

One of the best things about this card? The stamps! I got this “Big Day” stamp set for FREE with the current Sale-A-Bration promotion.

Blendabilities are the star of this show. I used a few different sets to color the cake image and the sentiment. The cool part?! I used darkest shade of the Coastal Cabana Blendabilities to color 2 large rhinestones that “hold” my sentiment in place. I love these darn Blendabilities. They make creating matching elements a breeze!

PERSONAL UPDATE:  I am sorry for what seemed like I took a vacation. I had a lot going on in my little ole world over here.

  • My kids are finally all better and went to school all week last week. Whew!
  • We did some car shopping last week and finally got a new one. I am super happy. I got a SUV (we got rid of our OLD yucky van)!
  • YAY! My daughter’s 10th birthday is this week. Eeek! I can NOT believe she is going to be 1-0 in just 2 short days! We all say it but, really how does time fly this fast? We are doing our first Slumber Party this weekend. Oh boy–lots of screaming young ladies–that my hubby is not looking forward to, LOL.

All in all everything is going well and busy and I am getting back into the swing of things! I hope that all is well with you!

Eat MORE Cake; One Tag Fits All by Stampin’ Up!

1 crafts 2015-01-12 003

I am having some more fun with this One Tag Fits All stamp set. I have said it already but, really this set is versatile. I have already created 2 birthday, 1 thank you, and 2 Valentine cards with this set. If you think about I have already paid for the set if you figure I would have had to spend $3 to $4 to purchase just ONE card (and I have to say that MY cards are better than a “store” bought one-that’s my opinion).

1 crafts 2015-01-12 001

I created this card with a simple design in mind. With minimal embellishments I believe I still conquered a cute and stylish card.

  1. Cut Bermuda Bay cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 11″ and score at 5 1/2″.
  2. Run a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece Pumpkin Pie cardstock through the Big Shot with the Decorate Dots embossing folder.
  3. Layer that embossed cardstock onto a piece of 3 3/8″ x 5 1/8″ Whisper White. Next, adhere those layers to the card base.
  4. Cut a piece of Designer Paper to 3 3/4″ x 3″ and adhere that over the embossed cardstock. Add a 3/8″ x 3″ piece of Coastal Cabana to cover the seam. Place two Candy Dots on the ends (they look like brads!)
  5. Stamp the “eat cake” image onto Whisper White cardstock, color image with Blendabilites then, punch it out with the Note Tag Punch. Punch another tag out of Coastal Cabana cardstock. Adhere those tags together slightly off center so that the blue sticks out on the left side of the white tag.
  6. Use dimensionals to adhere the tag to the card.

You have a completed card unless you decide to continue and add a little stamping to the inside of your card! 🙂

I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Below are the supplies that I used to complete this project.

Do you want to create interest in the background but don’t have a matching Designer Series Paper? I have a really easy way to get a coordinating look every time without feeling like you have to own every paper out there. You can use a stamp from your set OR part of a stamp like I did here. For this card I chose to ink up my piece of cake image (only the cake not the writing) with a Melon Mambo Marker (same color as my paper). After you have inked up your image give it a little huff. We all have a little hot air to spare, don’t we?! Doing this just moistens the ink because it dries pretty quickly. Next, stamp your image onto your cardstock. Repeat until you have the look you want. Easy peasy. 🙂 Just have fun!

Are you waiting to see some Valentine projects? The wait is almost over! Come back tomorrow to see a project created with the most adorable NEW stamp set: Hey, Valentine.
