What You Should Know Before You Order! (Plus, I Fixed The Snowman!)

Hi there!  Last week I shared a fun Popcorn Snowman Gift Card Holder (with the FIRE hazard, remember that?!)  Well, I thought I would update you on how I fixed that issue.  I could not sell these items the way they were, knowing that IF someone wasn’t thinking, like myself when I created it :),  that their popcorn might end up in flames (or god forbid something worse).
Luckily, even though I used sticky strip, I was able to carefully peel off my original gift card holder and place it directly onto a small piece of Old Olive cardstock.  I punched a hole in the Old Olive piece and used some baker’s twine to tie it onto the popcorn.  Now, I feel much better.  Don’t YOU?!  Disaster averted.
You can view the original post HERE where I listed each item used.  Plus you can see the front of this cutie pa-tootie!
I was checking the Stampin’ Up! backorder page and came across a few items that I wanted to be sure you were aware.  This list looks long however, most of these items should have come back in stock yesterday.  There are a few exceptions though that you should take notice of:  Trim the Tree Designer Paper and Stampin’ Up! Trimmer Cutting Blades look to be out of stock until November 17th so, unless you can wait for those to arrive to you probably no earlier than Friday, November 21st, I would not order those.  The five items at the end of this list have been on this list for a over a few days now.  I would NOT order these items either as I have no idea when Stampin’ Up! will get them back in stock.  I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Gift Card Holders

The season is quickly approaching and soon you will be looking for cute gift card holders and great packaging ideas, right?!  I love to give my little gifts in totally cute packaging!  Giving a gift card as a gift may feel like your cheating but, the recipient will love that they can go get exactly what they want.
You can create cute gift card holders with the time you will save by not having to spend trying to pick out the perfect gift!

For today’s project you will have to forgive me for using products that are retired through Stampin’ Up! but, I am busy creating for an upcoming craft show so, I am using up some great papers in my collection!  The Stocking Die was offered last year through Stampin’ Up!.  You can create your own template if you do not have this die.

I used designer paper for the front, Very Vanilla cardstock for the backs (which I just used my liquid glue to attach), and a very sparkly piece of the Silver Glimmer Paper for the tops of all of the stockings.

Sponging a bit of Soft Suede ink around all of my bits and pieces really helps to make it “pop”.  I used some brown felt ribbon for my hanger.  Using a crop-a-dial I punched a hole through the ribbon and the top of the stocking and used a brad to attach to the stocking.  I also hot glued retired felt pieces over the brads for adding decoration.

I hope that you enjoyed today’s project and you are beginning to think of ways to create your own cute packages this holiday season!  Let me know if I can help you!

Tis the Season!

Check out these cute little gift card holders!  Wow, these could not be easier!  You only need a bit of designer paper and 1/4 sheet of card stock.  Fold that in half and cut off one corner.  I only added a bit of sticky strip on the bottom so that my cards don’t slip out.  The first gift card holder was stamped with a retired set Stitched Stockings and the matching retired punch.  I used a retired set of stamps and die-cuts (that didn’t get much use last year and that just made me SAD) Scentsational Seasons on #’s 2-4.  Lastly, I tied a bit of ribbon around the holder and attached the image with some dimensionals!
Place an order over $25 with me from now until Sunday, December 1st and receive

Gift Card Holder: Birthday

I recently made this little gift card holder for a friend of my daughter’s.  Much cuter than the plain ‘ole envelope that the “big box” stores give you for free.  I think that this makes a much better presentation!  If you click the picture you can see that I have added glitter and a bit of paper piercing for added interest.  Oh, I made my own envelope also.  The diagonal score plate worked perfectly for this and it was so quick and easy!!  🙂
