Mingle All The Way to the Festival Of Trees

Hi Stampers!  Today I have another super quick Christmas card.  I have been a fan of quick and simple over the last few months.  Sometimes, I just do not have the 1+ hours to create a card.  And, yes I have spent plenty of hours creating a card or two, just not lately.  🙂
Now, there are the things you could do with this “simple” card to step it up.  How about adding some Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details to the berries on the trees.  You could also add some glitter to the snowflakes that surround your sentiment.  You could even round some corners of the card.  The possibilities are endless.
 What will you create today?

Craft Show: Merry Monday

Hi everyone!  Well, I have a confession to make.  I was unable to get a video completed for today.  I am very sorry!  I under estimated how much time I needed to finish up some things for the show. Last night when I got home from the show I had a sick little guy on my hands and then I was exhausted and I wasn’t able to stay awake.  I will make it up by doing a give-a-way next Monday!!  Sound good?
If you have been following along with me over the last few weeks I have shared some items that I was preparing for a craft show.  The show was yesterday.  I have a few pictures of my table. Don’t you love the rock climbing wall behind me?  LOL.  This craft show was in a elementary school gym.

Have a great day!!

Snowman Gift Card Holder with Popcorn!

Hi there!!  Today I am showing you another craft show item that I have created.  I remember seeing this project a few years ago.  I didn’t go looking for it this year I just went with my memory and I like my results.  Kudos to the original creator!

This little cutie started out as a Jiffy Pop Popcorn (see picture below…do you remember these??).  We had these as kids and I remember thinking how neat it was to “pop” our popcorn on the stove!  Who wouldn’t like to receive this little guy with a BONUS gift card “popped” onto the back (sorry, couldn’t resist the pun).  🙂

I won’t get into too many details.  I have to go get some things finished for my son’s Halloween Party that I am in charge of for TOMORROW.  Eeek.  Time is flying!
Basic Directions:
  • I traced the circle (the popcorn container) onto Whisper White cardstock however, when went to cut, I cut inside my line because it has to fit inside the black container.
  • I used Basic Black to create his hat in two pieces (one for the brim and one for the top).
  • I punched Basic Black circles to create his eyes and mouth.
  • I cut a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock into a triangle for his nose.  I sponged around that piece with Pumpkin Pie ink.
  • Using Real Red cardstock I punched a few berries and sponged Real Red ink around them.
  • I punched two large ovals out of Old Olive cardstock and then used a circle punch to create the holly.  I sponged Old Olive ink around the holly for some dimension.
  • Lastly, I created a little pouch for a gift card out of Real Red cardstock.
Once I finished all five of the Snowman Gift Card Holder I realized that maybe placing the gift card on the “butt” of the gift might not have been the brightest thing to do.  Remember, if your recipient is actually planning on making their popcorn they HAVE TO REMOVE THE PAPER!!  Ooops.  It’s super cute though, right?!  Right?  Please tell me that it’s cute.  🙂
You might think about creating a different little pouch that you could TIE onto the handle if you try this one at home.  Just thought I would share!
Have a great day everyone!!  Thank you so much for coming by today!

Snowmen Ornament; NEW Weekly Deals

**EDITED**
This post is getting a lot of traffic. Yay!  🙂
I want to give just a few more tips if you are going to try to create these babies for yourself.
Tip #1: when using Sharpies with Stazon you just need to be careful not to overlap your ink too much.  Don’t marker over your stamped image or you will get smearing.  I have been doing these ornaments for a few years and there is a learning curve.  I do not like to large images with the Sharpies or you will get some streaking.  Let it dry and you can go back over it and hopefully, it will all smooth out.
Tip #2:  Have good ole baby wipes handy.  If you don’t like your stamped image–wipe it off, dry your ornament and try again!  Same goes if you do not like how the markers are working.  Start over and try again!
You could spray your ornament with some sort of fixative however, I have not had any problems with fading or smearing.  But, if you scratch them the ink will come off where it was scratched.
Have Fun!!

Hello!  Today I am sharing another ornament that I recently created.  This time I used a retired stamp (I don’t have the name, I only have this one stamp from the set).  I *love* all snowmen and these little guys (and girls) are no exception!  So fun and cute!!
Just like the last ornament I showed you, I stamped my image with my Jet Black Stazon and colored it in with Sharpies.  That’s it.  I tied some pretty ribbons to the top to create my hanger.
I stamped all of my ornaments this year with this cute little “made for you by me” stamp from the Everyday Occasions Cardmaking Kit.  In the past I have used a personalized stamp that I have with my name on it but this stamps so much nicer on these ornaments.  It follows the Stampin’ Up! Angel Policy (you must use a stamp with the © Stampin’ Up! line if you are selling items created with SU! stamps).
Here is the view of the back of the ornament.  I finished my ornaments off by placing them into 6″ x 8″ cellophane bags that Stampin’ Up! carries.  Of course, I add a bit more ribbon to the close them up.
